When it comes to the new year we all feel some serious pressure to create unrealistic goals that we MUST accomplish, and then if we don't we beat ourselves up. It can be a vicious cycle. So I'm here to tell you- just chill. You got goals? Me too! But there's an easy stress-free way to go about accomplishing them.
1. Write It Down: If you don't write it down, it will probably not work out for you. It has been proven that goals that are actually written down come to fruition. I keep a bedside journal with my goals and I read them daily, especially before bed, as a reminder to keep pushing towards them.
2. Set A Date: Want to organize your entire house? Want to lose 20 pounds? Want to save money? Great. Now think of it as a job, not a goal. At your job you have things you must get done with a deadline, right? Give yourself a reasonable deadline to get goals accomplished. For example: I will save $5,000 by July 1st 2020. This is just an example. Make the goal and the date attainable, but don't make it too easy either!
3. Use Visuals: For those of you who don't know me that well, I'm a HUGE believer in vision boards. You can create one on your phone, or by using oaktag and magazine cutouts. I am a very visual person and this helps me to see myself where I want to be and manifest it. What you'll do is find images and phrases that pertain to your goals. If you are doing it on your phone you can use my fave app HayHouse to create different boards for different goals. The key is to look over your board(s) in the morning and before bed, and visualize yourself living that life. You are planting a seed that will keep you on track, help clarify, and focus on specific life goals.
I wish you all the best for 2020 and every year after! You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to, and I know you can do it!
