3 Positive Takeaways From The Glambition New Beginnings CoverGirl Event in Times Square

When a group of women come together to celebrate empowerment and wellness, something very interesting happens. We become a force to be reckoned with. Upon leaving the Glambition New Beginnings CoverGirl Event, I felt exhilarated, blissful, and super-charged. Meeting and connecting with so many like-minded women who are focused on helping other women claim ownership of their health and wellness, was truly eye-opening and a positive learning experience.

From Left To Right: Erica Pagano, Aileen Castellano, Hilda Perez, Maria Solis, Dee Rivera

The event consisted of many components that flowed perfectly together. We laughed, we cried, we relaxed our minds, and connected with our bodies. As I listened to the panel of accomplished Latina women before me, I had the chance to think about my life, my wellness habits, and what daily changes I can make to be a better mother, wife, daughter, and all around human being.

After a little mingling we got down on our mats and did a breathing meditation and stretch session led by Erica Pagano, CEO of Total Fitness Evolution. Meditating was a fantastic way to just stop, listen to our bodies, and disconnect from the noise of the city. It really set the tone for the rest of the event and was a lot fun! Once we were all relaxed Dee Rivera, Moderator of DCG Media Group did a fun raffle giveaway in collaboration with CoverGirl (and no, I did not win!).

I'm always inspired my women entrepreneurs who see a need in their community and provide a solution. Maria Solis, CEO LatinosRunNYC did just that. She was in various running groups and realized that there were not many Latina women involved or participating. Solis created a safe space for Latina women, LatinosRunNYC, that not only focuses on running, but overall health and wellness. This platform is free and it's a place where all women of different backgrounds can uplift each other.

As a skincare specialist I was pleased to meet Hilda Perez, CEO of Salud which is a family owned and operated company that makes all-natural high quality health and wellness products for over 25 years. Salud's products tackle all types of health and beauty concerns from your head to your toes, and you can shop online or at their store in NYC. I especially love the Mabella Facial Cleanser because of the superb ingredients. It contains: goat milk, rosehip oil, and activated charcoal.

Aileen Castellano, Wealthness Coach, Spiritual Entrepreneur, and Author of Heal Your Past; helps others step into their greatness. Castellano creates and teaches transformative practices for women and men who desire change in their lives. While on the panel she shared her personal life story with us all. The winding dark roads she had to go through to get to the place she's in now, made her the strong resilient woman that she is today, and has transformed her into a mentor for other people who feel stuck in life.

Three stand-out takeaways that I learned at this event:

1. We all deserve a seat at the table: Never second guess yourself, you deserve to be where you are, don't let the brain bully creep in and tell you that you aren't accomplished enough, smart enough, talented enough. YOU ARE.

2. It's OK to take a time-out for yourself: A simple 5 minute time-out to be alone with your thoughts, a quick meditation, or a simple stretch can truly make a world of difference in your day and recharge your body & mind.

3. You don't owe anybody anything: This was my favorite takeaway of all. You don't have to answer texts, emails, phone calls right away. You don't have to be available to everybody 24/7. Take your time, and don't apologize for it!
